Introduction. According to the World Health Organization (WHO), no less than 2.2 billion people worldwide suffer from visual impairment. At least 1 billion of these people had visual impairment that could have been prevented or could still be corrected. WHO emphasizes the need to prevent the development of these diseases and the importance of monitoring patients with eye pathologies.
